Caregiving is Hard – Film Screening

 Date: October 18 | 9:30–11:30 AM

 Location: Tower Theaters, South Hadley

Join us for a FREE screening of Taking Care, an intimate documentary that follows one family’s journey with Alzheimer’s and caregiving. After the film, Sheryl Fappiano, LSW, CMC, will lead a discussion to offer insights and answer your questions. This event is a unique opportunity to connect with others, reflect on the realities of caregiving, and explore strategies for resilience and support. Popcorn and beverages will be provided, and admission is free!

Planning for the Future – Lunch & Learn

 Date: November 17 | 12:30 PM

Location: Hadley Council on Aging / Hadley Senior Community Center

Aging brings many questions, and planning ahead can make a world of difference. This Lunch & Learn event provides a chance to ask a Geriatric Care Manager all the questions you’ve been wondering about—what help looks like, the costs involved, and what options are available. Bring your list of questions, and Sheryl Fappiano will stay as long as needed to provide guidance.

Additionally, Dr. Rebecca Starr, Gerontologist, will present practical tips for healthy aging, helping elders optimize their physical, emotional, and overall well-being. A delicious lunch will be provided, and registration is required—email Violet at suskav@hadleyma.gov to reserve your spot.

Both events are designed to empower attendees with knowledge and resources. We are also excited to open the floor for questions and engagement from the audience. If you are a caregiver, planning for the future, or simply interested in learning more, these sessions are a great opportunity to connect with experts and your community.
